Hylton Casting is currently casting an experienced DJ with personal equipment to work as a background actor in exterior family cookout scenes on the BET+ series Diarra From Detroit – Season 2.
 

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

  • Show Title: Diarra from Detroit – Season 2
  • Network: BET+
  • Synopsis: A divorcing, overworked teacher finds herself drawn into a cold case after a dating app matches her with a man she suspects is the adult version of a boy abducted in the 90s.

ROLE

  • REAL DJ
    • Black / African American
    • Any gender
    • Ages 20+
    • Must be a real DJ with your own gear
    • Will pantomime DJing on camera (music playback will be handled by the Sound Department)
    • Scenes take place during an exterior family cookout

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

  • Talent must bring the following:
    • Digital DJ setup with a computer
    • Personal microphone
    • Headphones
    • No speakers are required

FILMING DATES

  • Wednesday, 8/13/25 AND Thursday, 8/14/25
  • Must be available for BOTH filming dates. Please only submit if you are fully available for both filming days.
  • Must be available for up to 12+ hours each date
  • Call times will be provided the day before filming

FILMING LOCATION

  • Atlanta, GA

RATE (IF HIRED)

  • Background Rate: $13.63/hr ($109 for 8 hours guaranteed. Overtime paid after 8 hours at time and a half)
  • Equipment Bump: $250 (for providing required gear)

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Please submit the following:
    • A recent selfie (taken within the last 7 days)
    • A full-body photo (head-to-toe, straight-on, in scene-appropriate attire)
    • A clear photo of your DJ equipment setup
  • Photo Guidelines:
    • Use natural lighting
    • No filters or image editing
    • Show current hair color, length, and style

BOOKING POLICY

  • Hylton Casting, LLC and Breakdown Productions, Inc. reserve the right to cancel any part of your booking at any time, including last-minute changes. If your booking is canceled, no compensation, reimbursement, or other consideration will be provided. Please check your email before arriving to set for updates. Hylton Casting may overbook background actors to ensure production needs are met in the event of last-minute cancellations. A confirmation does not guarantee placement; if production is at full count, you may not be signed in or compensated. Extras signed in on set are not employed by Hylton Casting and are paid directly by the production company. If booked to work on this production, all the materials and information about this production are CONFIDENTIAL. Your work and ANYTHING regarding this production is CONFIDENTIAL and cannot be shared via social media or otherwise. Individuals can and will be asked to leave set for taking pictures or putting information on social media. Phones may be used in holding for personal purposes only. Pictures cannot be taken at ANY time. If a photo is taken in holding or on set this is also grounds for immediate removal. You cannot talk to the press, blog, Facebook, tweet, or Instagram etc. about your experience or take any photos on set.
