Hylton Casting is currently casting the following featured background role for the BET+ series Diarra From Detroit Season 2. We are a Caucasian Male to portray a gangster in a series of flashback scenes that take place in the 1920’s.

ROLE

1920’S GANGSTER – PURPLE GANG
  • Caucasian Male, ages 30s – 50s
  • This role will work in a series of flashback scenes that take place in the 1920s.
  • CLICK HERE for reference image. This role will depict a member of the infamous Purple Gang – a prominent, white crime syndicate in Detroit during the 1920s that famously partnered with Chicago gangster Al Capone’s organization.
  • Must be clean shaven (or willing to shave if selected).
  • No modern hairstyles.
  • Previous acting experience preferred but not required
  • Must be available to attend a wardrobe fitting for this role on Monday, 10/6/25.

FILMING DATE

Monday, 10/13/25
  • Must be available for a 12 hour filming day or longer on set.
  • Call time will not be provided until the day before the filming date. Please do not submit if you do not have open availability for the filming date listed above.

FILMING LOCATION

  • Atlanta, GA

RATE (IF HIRED)

  • Background Rate: $10.50/hour ($84 guaranteed for 8 hours. Overtime paid after 8 hours at time and a half.)
  • Wardrobe Fitting Bump: $21 Wardrobe Fitting Bump for attending mandatory fitting.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • All talent must submit the following recent photos (taken within the last 7 days):
    • A natural headshot-style selfie (no filters, clean/minimal look)
    • A full-body photo against a plain wall or background
    • Important: Photos must be recent, in natural lighting, and unedited (no filters, hats, or sunglasses). Please make sure photos reflect your current look (hair length, facial hair, etc.).
  • Video Slate Required:
    • Short video slate: State your name, height, and location
    • Show your full body from head to toe
