BACKGROUND ROLES

Casting Black / African American Women ages 18+ to work in interior Salon / Beauty Shop scenes for the following roles.

  • REAL BEAUTICIANS
    Must be an experienced Hair Stylist. Should be prepared to perform blow-outs, style hair, wash hair, etc. on background actors in these scenes.     Should have a valid Cosmetology License.
  • REAL NAIL TECHS
    Must be an experienced Nail Tech. Should be prepared to perform nail services on background actors in these scenes. Should have a valid Cosmetology License.
  • CASHIER / RECEPTIONIST
  • SHAMPOO GIRL 
    Must be comfortable washing another background actor’s hair in these scenes.
  • SALON CUSTOMERS
    Must be comfortable having your hair adjusted by the production for this role. This may include getting your hair wet, wearing extensions, weaves, or wigs, and sitting under a hair dryer. Must come with your hair clean and blow dried. Would receive an additional $15 bump for this role.

  • You do not need to be available for all filming dates.
  • Must be available for a 12 hour filming day or longer on set each day.
  • Call time will not be provided until the day before the filming date. Please do not submit if you do not have open availability for the filming date / dates listed above.

RATE

Background Performer services:
$92/8 hrs
Please note, this is a flat rate of $92 total for working up to 8 hours.  You will receive overtime (time and a half) after 8 hours.

PHOTO SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • It is very important that we have accurate photos of how your hair will look when filming. All background actors for these scenes will be picture picked by the Director and Producers of the Episode. It is important that you send us accurate photos.
  • On the submission form below, please make sure to submit recent, clear, color photos.
  • The photos that you submit should reflect your current look – hair color, cut, etc.
  • Please submit a head shot and full length body shot.
  • Do not submit photos with filters, black and white photos, photos where you are wearing hats or sunglasses, and photos that do not reflect your current look, hair style, etc.

BOOKING POLICY

  • Please note, Hylton Casting, LLC and the production Starz Valley Productions, LLC. reserves the right to cancel any aspect of your booking (in whole or in part) at any time for any reason (including, without limitation, in connection with last minute production changes), regardless of whether you or the production has confirmed the applicable booking. If your booking is cancelled (either in whole or in part), you understand and agree that you are not entitled to any consideration in connection with such cancellation (including, without limitation, compensation, fees, reimbursement, expenses and/or other consideration).  Please make sure to check your email prior to arrival to the production location for any updates.   • For all extras that are booked, we would like to inform you that it is our policy to overbook extras to compensate for last minute cancellations affected by weather, traffic, and other unforeseen circumstances. The formula we use to derive at our booking levels, is carefully applied and as conservative as possible while still fulfilling our responsibility of ensuring the required number of extras for the producers. Therefore, a confirmation email does NOT guarantee placement.  Once production is at full count, additional extras will not be signed in and therefore, will not be compensated. Extras that are signed in by production are not employed by Hylton Casting and will be compensated by the production company.
  • Hylton Casting and the production are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

If booked to work on this production, all the materials and information about this production are CONFIDENTIAL. Your work and ANYTHING regarding this production is CONFIDENTIAL and cannot be shared via social media or otherwise. Individuals can and will be asked to leave set for taking pictures or putting information on social media. Phones may be used in holding for personal purposes only. Pictures cannot be taken at ANY time. If a photo is taken in holding or on set this is also grounds for immediate removal. You cannot talk to the press, blog, Facebook, tweet, or Instagram etc. about your experience or take any photos on set.
