Overview

Hylton Casting Sessions are intimate, conversation-driven industry gatherings led by Heather Hylton Bivens, Owner and Casting Director of Hylton Casting. These sessions are designed to introduce participants to the background world of film and television — including background actors, stand-ins, and photo doubles — while offering real insight into how casting offices operate and what professionalism looks like on set.

This is also an opportunity to engage with our office in person, beyond submissions or photos. We value connection, clarity, and transparency, and these sessions are a space to ask questions, gain perspective, and better understand how to work with a professional casting office.

This session is informational and conversational in nature. It is not an acting class, audition, or job placement opportunity.

Who This Session Is For

This session is ideal for adults (18+) who are curious about background work but don’t know where to start, feel overwhelmed by online information or social media advice, want a realistic understanding of what background work involves, or are seeking clarity before pursuing opportunities in the industry. No prior experience is required.

What We’ll Cover

Topics include an overview of Hylton Casting and the projects we work on; the role and importance of background actors on set; professionalism, expectations, etiquette, and conduct; typical hours, call times, and what a day on set can look like; background rates in Georgia and how they are structured; an introduction to stand-in and photo double work; photo requirements for background work; and our registration process. There will also be time for open discussion and questions.

Session Format

Each session is designed as a guided conversation in a welcoming, modern setting. The goal is to provide clarity, real-world perspective, and practical insight into how the background casting world fits into the larger entertainment ecosystem. This is a conversational, informative, and interactive experience — not an acting class.

Photo, Video & Audio Recording Release

Hylton Casting may photograph, record video, and/or capture audio during this session for documentation, marketing, promotional, educational, and archival purposes. Participants grant Hylton Casting the right to use their image, likeness, voice, and appearance without compensation. Participants who do not wish to be recorded must notify Hylton Casting in writing prior to the session.

Personal Property Disclaimer

Hylton Casting is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property brought to the session.

Recording by Attendees

Personal photography, video recording, audio recording, or live streaming by attendees is not permitted without prior written consent from Hylton Casting.

Right to Refuse Entry or Remove Participants

Hylton Casting reserves the right to refuse entry to or remove any participant whose behavior is disruptive, unsafe, or unprofessional, without refund.

Confidentiality & Non-Disclosure Agreement

Participants agree not to record, reproduce, distribute, or share session content, materials, or discussions without prior written consent from Hylton Casting.

Refund & Transfer Policy

All registrations are final sale. Tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable, and may not be applied to another session.

Session Cancellation by Hylton Casting

If Hylton Casting must cancel a session and cannot reschedule, participants will receive a full refund to the original form of payment. Hylton Casting is not responsible for additional expenses incurred.

Weather & Emergency Disclaimer

Sessions may be postponed or canceled due to severe weather, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances.

Acknowledgment & Agreement

By registering, participants confirm they are 18 years of age or older, have read and understand all information above, and agree to all terms, policies, and disclosures.
